From the first contour to review
From testing piece joins to version 1.0.0: what we built in Paperlore before submitting it for review.

The earliest Paperlore builds let us test individual pieces: how they fitted, moved and joined into groups. There was no catalogue or tutorial. Before adding pictures and screens, we needed to know that assembling the puzzle worked.
What we built along the way
We divided the work into 46 stages. Outlines and image placement came first, followed by moving groups, zooming the board and saving progress. Returning to an unfinished puzzle needed its own checks: after a restart, pieces should be where the player left them. We used an emulator and a real Pixel 7 for testing.
Some early decisions changed. The working title Puzzle Land became Paperlore: Jigsaw. We dropped pinch-to-zoom in favour of buttons, so the way to enlarge or reduce the board is visible on screen. The illustration shows those changes alongside later additions: the catalogue, tutorial and achievements.
Once the core puzzle worked, we built the surrounding screens. Difficulty selection, a collection of finished pictures and a short four-piece tutorial followed. Both a first session and a return to an unfinished puzzle can now happen without test screens.
Where the release stands
Version 1.0.0 is prepared for release, with permissions checked and contact details and a privacy policy in place. The game is now under store review. It is not a public release yet: we are waiting for the platform’s decision. That is why the website shows “Under review” rather than a release date.
