The last quiet details before release

Zoom buttons instead of a gesture, controls you can hide and save checks: the last changes before store review.

An editorial sketch inspired by the final refinements to the board and its controls.

Before submitting the game for review, we went back through an ordinary session: start a puzzle, zoom into an area, put it aside and return later. At this stage, friction in familiar actions mattered more to us than adding features.

Buttons for zooming

We dropped the zoom gesture. The board now has zoom-in and zoom-out buttons, so there is no finger movement to guess when you want a closer look. Moving the board remains a separate action.

We then added a magnifying-glass control that hides the buttons. Once the zoom level is right, they do not need to occupy the corner of the screen. They stay visible during the tutorial, where players need access to the action a prompt is explaining. We also kept a quick way to fit the whole picture on screen.

After the last piece

We revised the end of a puzzle too. The game shows the finished picture and a quiet closing scene instead of immediately returning to the menu. After a long session, it is worth leaving a little time to look at what you assembled.

Saves and longer sessions

Alongside these changes, we checked autosaving and recovery of unfinished puzzles. Rendering received attention as well: we added geometry caching and reduced the frequency of expensive redraws. We tested those changes in longer play sessions, since the puzzle needs to remain comfortable beyond its first few minutes.
